COMEDY - EVERYONE IS FUNNY!
(Teens and young adults)
Four-week course
Fridays 6pm to 9pm
October 3 to October 24

Every actor should be able to enjoy the challenges of performing comedy. Making an audience laugh can be tricky work, but it is, by far, the most rewarding kind of acting to do when you have the confidence that comes with technique and training. Overcome any fear of comedic acting and sharpen your skills in this class. Everyone is funny.

Cost: $300 (plus $10 processing fees)

ACTING - IMPROVISATION AND SCENE STUDY
(ages 9-12 years)
Four-week course
Saturdays 10am to 12pm (noon)
October 4 to October 25

Whether acting material is scripted or improvised, spontaneity is essential. Through exercises and games based on the work of Viola Spolin, we will address the common mistakes and habits actors make that can inhibit their most honest and interesting performances from reaching the audience.

Through scripted material from a variety of styles from different mediums, we will work on text analysis, character and action. We apply (and cite for beginners) the techniques of the major schools of modern acting: Stanislavsky, Chekov, Strasberg and Meisner. Students learn about these innovators to the art, and explore the benefits of their teaching in their class work.

WORKING ON CAMERA
Eight-week course

    Policies

  • There will be no refunds for missed classes.
  • All classes are closed to auditors, parents, agents and managers.
  • Please do not drop off early. Doors will open 5 minutes before class begins.
  • Pick-up will be promptly at the end of class (Late pick-ups will be billed in increments of $25.00 per quarter hour)
  • All students are asked to wear clothes in which they can move freely (Please avoid flip flops, heels etc).
  • No eating or chewing gum during class.
  • Only water will be permitted.
  • Only the instructor critiques the classwork.
  • All classes are subject to change or cancellation.
  • Classes will be taught by Hallie Todd and/or Glenn Withrow (On rare occasions, if necessary, a well-chosen guest instructor may be invited to teach the class).
  • In consideration of teachers and fellow classmates, we strongly ask that any flu-like symptoms be left at home. We will welcome you back to class when you are feeling better.
